Welcome to the El Paso Premier League Parent Resources Center. Parents play one of the most important roles in a young athlete's development, and we are grateful for your commitment to supporting your player throughout their soccer journey. This page serves as a central hub for information, resources, league policies, and guidance designed to help create a positive experience for players, families, coaches, referees, and clubs.

Our goal is simple: provide a safe, organized, and development-focused environment where every player can learn, compete, and enjoy the game.

Our Mission & Environment

EPPL is committed to creating a structured soccer environment that provides opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels to develop, compete, and enjoy the game. While competition is an important part of youth sports, our primary focus remains player development, sportsmanship, respect, and long-term growth.

We believe that the best youth soccer experiences occur when players, coaches, referees, and families work together to create a positive environment that prioritizes learning, effort, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.

Need a Team?

Whether your player is new to soccer or looking for a new opportunity, EPPL can help connect families with participating clubs and teams throughout El Paso and the surrounding region.

REMEMBER - A player must first join a team before registering for EPPL.

Parents Matter

Parents have a tremendous influence on the youth sports experience. The most successful players are often supported by parents who encourage effort, celebrate improvement, respect coaches and officials, and allow their children to learn through both success and adversity.

As a parent, you can positively impact your player's experience by:

  • Encouraging effort over results

  • Supporting all players, not just your own

  • Respecting coaches and referees

  • Allowing coaches to coach

  • Focusing on development and enjoyment

  • Modeling good sportsmanship

The sidelines should be a place of encouragement, positivity, and support.

Positive Sidelines Matter

Parents and spectators are expected to create an environment that supports all participants.

We ask parents to:

  • Cheer positively

  • Respect referees

  • Respect opposing teams

  • Respect coaches

  • Avoid confrontational behavior

  • Set a positive example for players

Poor spectator behavior can negatively impact players, disrupt matches, and create unsafe environments.

Parents should understand that misconduct by spectators may result in:

  • Verbal warnings

  • Removal from the facility

  • Team disciplinary action

  • Coach cautions or send-offs

  • Match forfeitures

  • Additional sanctions

Understanding the EPPL Pathway

Many parents are unfamiliar with the different leagues and divisions available within EPPL. Understanding where your child plays helps provide context for the level of competition and developmental goals of their team.

EPPL East & West

Developmental and recreational leagues designed primarily for younger players and teams beginning their soccer journey. Games are played in a specific area of the city.

EPPL City League

Competitive city-wide competition for teams seeking greater challenges and development opportunities. Games are played at both of EPPL's main venues.

N1 League

Elite regional competition for advanced U13 and older teams seeking the highest levels of competition and exposure.

Competitive Divisions

  • Recreational - Intro to Soccer

  • Challenge - Intro to Competition

  • Championship - Competitive Development

  • N1/Premier - Elite Competition

Each division is designed to provide an appropriate balance of competition and player development.

Stay Off The Field

For the safety of all participants, parents and spectators should remain off the field of play at all times unless specifically directed by referees, league officials, or emergency personnel.

While we understand that emotions can run high during youth sports, entering the field often escalates situations and creates additional safety concerns.

Unauthorized entry onto the field may result in disciplinary action against individuals, teams, or clubs.

Seating Guidelines

To create a safe and organized game-day environment:

  • Parents and spectators should remain on the designated spectator areas.

  • Coaches and players should remain on the team areas.

  • Spectators should not position themselves behind goals.

  • In games with Sideline Referees, Parents should set up on the opposite side away from the referee.

  • Spectators should avoid standing directly next to team benches.

  • Please follow any site-specific instructions provided by EPPL staff.

Maintaining proper sideline separation helps improve safety, communication, and the overall game-day experience.

There Is No Room for Violence in Youth Sports

Youth sports should be a place where players learn, grow, compete, and create positive memories. While soccer is an emotional and competitive game, violence, intimidation, threats, and physical altercations have no place in the youth sports environment.

EPPL maintains a zero-tolerance approach toward violent conduct involving players, coaches, spectators, and team officials. Any incident that compromises the safety of participants, referees, families, or staff may result in disciplinary action, including suspensions, forfeitures, point reductions, removal from league competition, or additional sanctions.

Parents and spectators play a critical role in helping maintain a safe environment. We encourage all families to lead by example, remain positive during competition, and help ensure that every player can enjoy the game in a safe and respectful setting.

Remember: No game, result, or disagreement is ever worth putting the safety of a child, referee, coach, or spectator at risk.
