What is the EPPL?
The El Paso Premier League is a youth soccer organization that provides leagues and competitive divisions for players of all ages and skill levels. EPPL creates a structured pathway for player development by offering recreational, developmental, and competitive environments that allow athletes to grow, compete, and enjoy the game at every stage of their soccer journey.
EPPL serves clubs and teams across El Paso and the surrounding region while promoting a safe, organized, and positive experience for players, parents, coaches, and referees.
EPPL LEAGUE STRCTURE
EPPL offers a structured league system designed to support player development at every stage of the game. Our EPPL East and EPPL West divisions provide a developmental and recreational environment for U12 and younger teams, allowing players to grow and compete within their local area at designated venues. As teams continue to develop, they can advance into the EPPL City League, where more competitive teams from across the city compete against one another at both of our main league venues. For top-level competition, the N1 League provides an elite regional platform for U13 and older teams, offering higher-level play and a pathway into a national league playoff system. Together, these leagues create a clear progression that gives players and teams opportunities to develop, compete, and advance within the game.
N1 League
Who Is It For?
The N1 League is designed for highly competitive U13 and older teams seeking elite-level competition and advanced player development opportunities. This platform is intended for clubs and teams looking to compete beyond the local level and challenge themselves against top regional opponents.

Games are played primarily in El Paso at both of EPPL’s main venues, with limited regional travel required throughout the season.
The El Paso Premier League
Who Is It For?
The EPPL City League is designed for competitive teams that are continuing to develop and are ready to compete against opponents from across the city. This league provides a higher level of competition while maintaining a strong focus on player growth and development.

Who Is It For?
EPPL East and EPPL West are developmental and recreational leagues designed for younger players and teams beginning their soccer journey. These leagues provide a positive and structured environment focused on learning, growth, and enjoyment of the game.

Game Locations
Teams compete within their designated region of the city and play games primarily at their assigned league venue. EPPL East teams compete at East Side Sports Complex, while EPPL West teams compete at West Side Sports Complex.

EPPL WEST & EAST are two separate leagues and do not combine at any point in the season.

THE EL PASO PREMIER LEAGUE is not and East vs West but rather a "CITY WIDE" league where the best teams in the city compete.
COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS
The El Paso Premier League offers multiple competitive divisions designed to support teams at every stage of their development. Each division has a clear purpose, competitive expectation, and pathway for growth. Whether a team is beginning its soccer journey or competing at the highest level in the region, EPPL provides a structured environment where players can develop, compete, and progress.
Our competitive divisions are organized into four levels:
Recreational → Challenge → Championship → N1 / Premier
Each level is designed to create the right balance of development, competition, structure, and recognition.
N1 / Premier Division
Elite Competition
The N1 / Premier Division is the highest competitive level within the EPPL structure. This division is designed for teams seeking advanced competition, high-level player development, and a pathway into regional and national opportunities.
For U13 and older teams, this level is represented through National 1 competition. For U10–U12 teams competing in the 9v9 format, this level is represented through the Premier Division, which serves as the top competitive platform before teams transition into 11v11 play.
This division is intended for teams that are ready to compete in a demanding environment with strong opponents, higher expectations, and increased performance standards.
Goals of the Division
The goal of the N1 / Premier Division is to provide top-level teams with a competitive platform that challenges players, prepares teams for higher levels of soccer, and creates meaningful advancement opportunities.
This division focuses on elite competition, advanced tactical development, player accountability, and team performance. Teams in this division should be committed to training, preparation, and consistent competitive growth.
Structure
The N1 / Premier Division is available within the upper levels of the EPPL infrastructure.

The Championship Division is the proving ground for teams that are serious about competing and developing toward the highest levels of EPPL play. This division is competitive, structured, and designed for teams that are working toward future placement in the N1 / Premier level.
Championship is an important bridge between foundational competition and elite competition. Teams in this division are expected to compete with intensity while continuing to focus on player development, team growth, and long-term progression.

The goal of the Championship Division is to provide a strong competitive environment for teams that are preparing to move into the N1 / Premier level.
This division emphasizes structured competition, team development, tactical growth, and preparation for elite-level expectations. It allows teams to test themselves in meaningful matches while still maintaining a developmental focus.

Challenge Division
Intro to Competition
The Challenge Division is designed for teams that are ready to enter a structured competitive environment but are not yet looking for the intensity of the Championship or N1 / Premier levels.
This division introduces players and teams to competitive soccer in a way that supports development, confidence, and team growth. Challenge is the first true step into competition within the EPPL pathway.
Goals of the Division
The goal of the Challenge Division is to help players and teams experience competition while still prioritizing development.
This division focuses on skill improvement, team building, game understanding, and the development of a healthy competitive culture. The environment is competitive, but not overly results-driven.
Teams in Challenge should be learning how to compete, how to handle wins and losses, how to play within a team structure, and how to prepare for future advancement.

Recreational Division
Intro to Soccer
The Recreational Division is the foundation of the EPPL player pathway. This division is designed for players and teams who are new to soccer or who are looking for a fun, safe, and low-pressure environment to learn the game.
The Recreational Division focuses on participation, enjoyment, basic skill development, and creating a positive first experience with soccer.
Goals of the Division
The goal of the Recreational Division is to introduce players to the game in a fun and welcoming environment.
This division is not focused on standings, championships, or high-pressure competition. Instead, the priority is helping players learn basic skills, understand the game, build confidence, and enjoy playing soccer.

This division is intended for younger players and beginner-level teams.
Playoffs
The Recreational Division DOES NOT include playoffs. Scores and standings are NOT kept, and no champions are crowned.
All teams play their guaranteed matches, and the focus remains on participation, learning, and player enjoyment.
Awards
All players in the Recreational Division receive participation medals.
Best Fit For
This division is best for new players, beginner teams, and families looking for a safe and enjoyable introduction to soccer. It is the starting point for players in the EPPL player development pathway.
Promotion & Relegation
EPPL uses a promotion and relegation system to maintain balanced competition and support proper team development across all divisions. Teams are expected to compete at the level that best matches their ability, and movement between divisions will take place from season to season based on performance, standings, playoff results, and league review. The purpose of this system is to reward growth, challenge successful teams, and prevent teams from remaining in a lower division simply to continue winning.
Top-performing teams will be promoted. At minimum, division champions are expected to move up to the next competitive level and will not have the option to remain in the same division if EPPL determines they are ready for advancement. Recreational teams that finish at the top of the internal standings may move into Challenge, Challenge finalists may move into Championship, and Championship finalists may earn the opportunity to move into Premier or N1 depending on age group and format. Likewise, teams finishing at the bottom of their division may be relegated to a more appropriate level, with at least the last-place team reviewed for movement down.
Promotion and relegation decisions may also consider the number of returning teams, age group structure, roster continuity, division size, and overall competitive balance. However, EPPL’s standard is clear: teams that consistently perform at the top should progress, and teams that need a better developmental fit may move down. This system creates meaningful competition, protects the integrity of each division, and ensures that every team continues to grow within the proper environment.
