At EPPL, we believe that player development begins with coach development. Coaches have a tremendous impact on the experience, growth, and long-term success of every player. Through education, mentorship, and continued learning, coaches can build the knowledge and tools necessary to create positive, safe, and development-focused environments for their teams.
Whether you are coaching for the first time or have years of experience, we encourage all coaches to pursue ongoing education opportunities and coaching licenses. Every course completed is an investment not only in yourself, but in the players and families you serve.

Understanding the Coaching License Pathway
The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Coaching License Pathway is designed to provide coaches with age-appropriate training and education that supports player development at every stage of the game.
The pathway begins with Grassroots Coaching Licenses, which focus on coaching players in small-sided game environments and introducing key coaching principles. Coaches may then continue their development through advanced licensing courses, including the D, C, B, A, and Pro Licenses.
Each level of education builds upon the previous one and introduces new concepts related to player development, leadership, training methodology, game understanding, and team management.
